The Kingston Canadian Film Festival (KCFF) is an exciting and educational event that celebrates the best of Canadian cinema, featuring both emerging and established filmmakers. Attracting thousands of attendees each year, KCFF offers unique opportunities for learning, networking, and connecting over a shared passion for Canadian film.
The goal of this project was to design a striking poster that promotes KCFF's 25th anniversary, generates excitement for the festival, and celebrates Canadian diversity. To meet these goals, the design concept was inspired by vibrant RGB film lights, which gives the poster an energetic, eye-catching look, ideal for standing out against the grey, winter environment of Kingston in March. The layered, dynamic colors symbolize the festival’s diversity, ensuring that no specific group is singled out. The fingers indicating the "2" and "5" represent the 25th anniversary, adding a personal, celebratory touch to the design. This visual identity was extended to other assets such as stickers, a program book, and social media posts.
