The Beaches Jazz Festival is Canada’s largest free jazz festival, drawing thousands of visitors each July to Toronto’s Beaches community. The festival features a diverse lineup of jazz, blues, funk, and world music across multiple outdoor stages and local venues. In addition to live performances, it offers artisan markets, food vendors, and interactive workshops, creating a lively celebration of music, culture, and community.
The goal of this project was to redesign the Beaches Jazz Festival logo and create a visual identity that captured the event's vibrant, playful, and inclusive spirit. The logo features a trumpet player under an umbrella, blending the energy of jazz music with the festival's relaxed beach atmosphere. The visual identity was explored through posters, billboards, and street pole flags. Large, jagged typography was used to convey energy and movement. Fun characters, inspired by the logo, are shown playing instruments like the saxophone and drums, reinforcing the festival’s lively vibe. The bold typography, playful imagery, and vibrant colors create a cohesive design that captures the dynamic atmosphere of the Beaches Jazz Festival.
